Our five pieces of luggage are still lost since I inadvertently flew through Heathrow a week ago yesterday. A fellow guest sympathized. "They lost my bags permanently at Thiefrow. Told me that I should just file a claim. They pay you about £100 a bag. They had so many suitcases in warehouses that it wasn't worth it to them to send someone in to sort out individual bags."
D flew out through Heathrow with an hour and a half to change planes. He asked the gate agent if that was enough time with the new security precautions. "We wouldn't sell you the ticket if it wasn't," she said snippily.
But it wasn't. With the new long security lines even for connecting flights (where people have already gone through security once), he missed his plane and was still at Heathrow late into the night.
Scotland, I think, is the most beautiful country in Europe. Next time I'll take the ferry, though.
