The metro today was full of supporters of Arsenal and Barcelona, come to Paris for the big match tonight.
In front of me were about a dozen good-looking kids dressed in dark green t-shirts with a white-outlined red star on them. On the quai I saw about a dozen of them.
"What are you all dressed alike for?" I asked a pretty girl.
"It's publicity for a brand of beer [Heineken]," she said.
"Non, c'est l'étoile communiste !" said the boy with her, who had a diamond earring. He began to sing. "C'EST la lut-te fi-na-le!"
"Chu-uu-u-ut!" said all the girls. [Shhhh!]
Haha! Did you notice the "publicité" on the borders of the field last night? Instead of reading "Heineken" they said "Champions Place" or some such hokeyness. That communist beer star was recognizable nonetheless...
