As we landed I saw a large white plane parked at the end of the runway with guards nearby and "United States of America" written on its side. We got off the plane and walked across the tarmac into the terminal. One woman turned to take a photo of the mountains. A voice boomed over the loudspeaker: "Passengers are requested to enter the terminal building immediately."
"Sounds as if Dick Cheney is in town!" I remarked to a local.
"Yup," he said. "And the President is on his ranch in Texas clearing brush. Kinda makes you wonder who's running the show, doesn't it?"
Beautiful picture! But, I'm curious... where were you?

A propos of nothing, I wonder how much of the time Chirac spent in Japan over the years, doing who knows what, the French public even had an opportunity to know that he was there?
