Today when I went by Trocadero, I saw three TGV* train cars! It's the 25th anniversary of the TGV. On the radio, it said that the TGV had carried a billion two hundred thousand passengers since its début. I still think it's funny that you can go by TGV to London (till you get to the U.K. where it putt-putts along) , Amsterdam and Brussels and Marseilles and Bordeaux, but not to Germany, even though Germany has high-speed trains too. That TGV, via Strasburg, isn't coming till 2012. You see them building it near the autoroute A4.
One of the workmen saw me taking pictures and came over to talk. He said the exhibits will be open all weekend.
*Train Grande Vitesse, or high-speed train
Actually you can go by TGV to Germany (the same train that go to Brussels).

The Thalys goes to Cologne. I think that branch was added recently though.
From Sedulia: Well, that's good to know! In the past you had to change in Brussels.
