Each time you fly these days, there seem to be new surprises. Today, it was that in spite of the large signs saying that passengers flying to the U.S. were now allowed to buy everything in duty-free, you cannot actually buy anything denoted as a gel, liquid, cream, etc. less than an hour and a half before take-off. There went my idea of buying some perfume as a present for a friend! I don't know about you, but I don't tend to get through security two hours before take-off.
As I was checking in this morning, I joked with the agent, a tired-looking young woman at the end of her shift. A managed to coax a smile from her. When we got to the plane, we found she had bumped us up to business class. What a nice surprise! I slept all the way to New York.
